Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Commercial Conveyancing Consultant - 7+ PQE -based in Leighton Buzzard. The role involves managing an existing caseload of commercial property transactions, with the support of a full-time experienced assistant. The Consultant will draft and review contracts, leases, and related documents, carry out due diligence, liaise with clients, lenders, agents, and other solicitors, and ensure compliance with regulatory and firm standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include advising clients on commercial property issues, resolving queries, negotiating terms, and maintaining accurate records and file management. The role also involves contributing to business development activities, supporting colleagues where needed, and promoting the firm’s commitment to personal, client-focused service.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills to review complex commercial property documentation, assess risks, and provide clear, reasoned advice.
  • Consulting capabilities, including client advisory skills, problem-solving, and the ability to tailor solutions to diverse commercial needs.
  • Commercial management skills to handle transaction timelines, coordinate stakeholders, and manage a structured caseload efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to draft precise legal documents and maintain professional client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Sales and business development awareness to help grow the commercial conveyancing practice and build long-term client relationships.
  • Knowledge of UK commercial property law and relevant regulatory requirements, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, showing integrity, professionalism, and strong organizational skills.
  • Comfort with legal case management systems and general IT proficiency; willingness to engage in continuous professional development.
