Copdock and Washbrook Pre-school are looking to appoint someone who is engaging, dedicated and hardworking to join the team as a Childcare Assistant offering either full or part-time hours. We have 2 posts available.

We are a small, but very busy preschool and wrap around care business. Our aim is to provide quality care and learning for all children. We are committed to providing all children with experiences to support their individual needs and are well resourced with a fabulous outside area to offer a range of learning opportunities for all children. We support one another as we work to provide a quality learning experience for all our children in a fun and nurturing environment.

You will be expected to work together with the manager and other staff, to provide children aged 2 - 5 with high quality early learning and care, and to work through the wrap around provision with older children up to the age of 11. Applicants will need to show excellent knowledge of and work within the requirements of the Early Years Statutory Framework, have a good understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection and be able to follow and implement the policies and procedures of the setting

Your responsibilities

  • Participate and deliver activities within the preschool and out of school club maintaining high standards in relation to all children and families.
  • To be a key person to a group of children, maintaining children's records on their achievement, assessment and ensure that their needs are met.
  • To work alongside the Manager and staff team to ensure that the settings standards and reputation are always upheld.
  • Assist in the ongoing maintenance of the environment, ensuring equipment is safe and standards of hygiene are high
  • Assist with personal care, i.e. nappy changes, potty training and toileting
  • Prepare and serve meals and snacks in accordance with the settings food and drink policy.

What you will need

Copdock and Washbrook Preschool is committed to safeguarding children, and all staff are expected to adhere to this commitment. An enhanced DBS is required for this post. We are looking for an experienced and friendly individual to join our team.

You will

  • have a Level 2 in Childcare or above, further training and CPD will be offered.
  • have experience of working in an Early years setting.
  • have a good understanding of the EYFS framework and regard to all safeguarding regulations
  • have experience in and be able to display your knowledge in looking after children
  • embrace the partnership between practitioners and parents that gives children the best possible start in life
  • be a good communicator and have an aptitude to interact with the children, your colleagues, and families.

The current opening hours are

7.45am - 6pm, Monday - Thursday and 7.45am - 4.30 pm on Fridays during term time. In school holidays we are open from 8am - 4.30pm, 3 days a week.
