The Role

Working with the Student Services Senior Leadership team (SLT), this post will ensure the provision of an efficient, professional and effective administrative support service to Director and Deputy Directors of Student Services, and Director of Student Racial Equity.

The post holder will support the Student Services SLT across a range of duties; working flexibly, collegiately and confidently to adapt to challenges and interact and influence internal and external colleagues and stakeholders.

Student Services consists of Disability Advice, Student Wellbeing, Student Life, Residence life, International Student Advice, Chaplaincy, Student Money, MyPort Student Hub and Student Racial Equity. The directorate also leads on student safeguarding, Prevent and student experience projects for the University.

The working pattern for this post is full time, however we may be able to consider offering reduced hours to a minimum of 30 hours per week to be worked over 5 days.

The post holder is expected to work on campus for 60% of the working week, with Tuesdays and Thursdays as essential on-campus days; the remaining time may be worked remotely. Further flexibility regarding working arrangements may be possible depending on the requirement.

Salary Information

New appointments will routinely be made to the entry spine point (minimum) for the advertised grade, from where the individual will (in addition to receiving annual cost-of-living-related increases) progress through the pay range to the maximum for the grade, within a reasonable timeframe. This ensures fairness, consistency and transparency in our pay structures. A higher starting salary or market supplement may be available for a truly exceptional candidate when circumstances fully justify a departure from our normal policy.
