- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on various types of overhead cranes and hoists.
- Conduct inspections and testing to certify lifting equipment in accordance with legal standards, such as LOLER and PUWER in the UK.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults to perform both reactive and planned repairs, often involving electrical systems, including PLCs, and mechanical components.

* - Commission newly installed equipment and perform tests to ensure it operates correctly and safely.
* - Carry out refurbishment and modernisation projects on existing equipment.
* - Create risk assessments and method statements for onsite activities.
* - Ensure strict adherence to health and safety procedures, regulations, and company policies.
* - Provide technical advice and guidance on crane operations and regulations to internal teams and clients.
Requirements and skills
* Qualifications: Most positions require a formal qualification, such as an NVQ Level 3, HNC, or HND in mechanical or electrical engineering. Experience and relevant certifications from a body like the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) are also essential.
* Experience: A strong background in maintenance, installation, or service within an industrial or heavy plant environment is required.
* Skills: Key skills include strong technical knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and electrical systems, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a high degree of safety awareness. Good communication and customer service skills are also important.

The day-to-day work can be varied and often involves travel to different customer sites to service and inspect their equipment.
Good Rates of pay £40k to £45K Basic, Overtime available paid at time and a half Saturdays and Double on Sundays. Company Van and Pension. Also LEEA Training available and other courses to develop your skills.
