About the role
Are you an experienced Commercial Manager ready to play a leading role on one of the North’s most significant rail infrastructure programmes?
We are looking for a commercially astute, collaborative and driven individual to join our TransPennine Route Upgrade team, supporting the delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary works across the Stalybridge to Slaithwaite corridor.

- Manage commercial reporting, monthly CVRs, earned value management, applications for payment, cash receipts, forecasts, WIP and debt.
- Provide clear commercial input into value engineering, cost planning, estimating, target cost development and gate review processes.
- Own and manage commercial risk, opportunity, change control, disallowed cost and margin improvement plans.
- Support procurement strategy, supply chain engagement, contract administration and commercial governance.
- Build trusted relationships with internal project teams, finance, planning, estimating, operational leads, customers, subcontractors and stakeholders.
- Lead, mentor and develop commercial colleagues, supporting professional development, succession planning and chartership journeys.
Who we're looking for
We are looking for a confident commercial leader with strong construction or infrastructure experience, excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to balance commercial control with collaborative project delivery. You will be comfortable working in a complex project environment, influencing at all levels and helping teams make commercially sound decisions.

- Membership of, or working towards, RICS, ICES or CIOB chartership.
- Proven commercial management experience within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure or rail.
- Strong understanding of contract administration, risk management, procurement and financial reporting.
- Experience with NEC3 and/or NEC4 forms of contract would be highly beneficial.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills.
