Salary: £28,000–£32,000 DOE
Type: Full-time, permanent
Reports to: Marketing Manager
Home emergencies don't wait, and neither do the people experiencing them. When a pipe bursts or the heating fails, customers turn to Google for help they can trust — and we make sure Emergency Hero is the name they find. We're looking for a Search Marketing Specialist to take ownership of the paid search that connects us with homeowners at the moment they need us most.
About Emergency Hero
We're a fast-growing technology business: think of us as the Uber of home emergencies. Through our platform, customers can call on a vetted local engineer for plumbing, heating, electrical, drainage, locksmith and pest control emergencies, 24 hours a day, anywhere in the UK.
Since launching our app in February 2025, we've completed more than 10,000+ jobs through a network of 1,200+ engineers, and we're scaling rapidly. It's a genuinely exciting time to join. The model is proven, the growth is fast, and the people who come on board now will help shape what the business becomes.
The role
This is a hands-on paid search role. You'll manage our Google Ads account day to day, with a clear primary objective: reduce the cost of acquiring each customer while maintaining the volume of enquiries. Quality Score, landing page relevance and overall campaign performance are the levers you'll use to deliver efficient, profitable growth.
What you'll do
- Manage and optimise our Google Ads search campaigns across all service lines, taking ownership of budget pacing, bidding strategy and day-to-day performance.
- Improve Quality Scores by strengthening the alignment between keywords, ad copy and landing pages, and respond to the insights the data provides.
- Enhance landing page experience and conversion rates through structured testing of headlines, layouts and calls to action.
- Monitor and report on the metrics that matter, like cost per acquisition, conversion rate and ROAS, providing clear analysis alongside actionable recommendations.
- Conduct keyword and audience research, write compelling ad copy, and reallocate spend away from underperforming activity.
- Identify new opportunities and contribute ideas to our wider marketing strategy.
What we're looking for
- 1–3 years' experience managing PPC / paid search campaigns, either in-house or agency-side.
- Hands-on Google Ads experience, with a solid understanding of Quality Score, ad rank and the factors that influence them.
- A strong grasp of landing pages and conversion rate optimisation
- Confidence working with data: Google Analytics (GA4), conversion tracking, and analysis
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain performance clearly to non-specialists.
- A proactive, self-directed approach to your work.
Desirable experience
The following would strengthen your application but are not essential. With paid search as your foundation, there will be room to develop these areas with our support.
- Experience in SEO, particularly around landing page and content relevance.
- Paid social experience, including Meta (Facebook and Instagram).
- Familiarity with CRO tools and A/B testing.
Why join us
- Meaningful impact - your work translates directly and quickly into revenue.
- A single brand to focus on, rather than multiple client accounts to juggle.
- A fast-scaling business where good ideas are tested and acted upon, not lost in process.
- The chance to grow alongside a company in its early, high-momentum stage.
- Competitive benefits package with opportunities for commission where relevant
