Active Travel Connectivity Officer

Durham County Council

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Active Travel Connectivity Officer within our Sustainable Travel and Advertising Team, supporting the delivery of active travel initiatives through planning, scheme development, project delivery and engagement.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

You will provide professional support for active travel across planning, scheme development, project delivery and stakeholder engagement. You will ensure that new developments incorporate effective active travel infrastructure, while also contributing to the design and delivery of the Council’s improvement schemes. You will also support behaviour change initiatives and maintain digital mapping resources, helping to deliver a safe, inclusive and well-connected active travel network across County Durham.

WHAT WILL I NEED?

  • Qualified to HNC/D Level 5 or equivalent in a relevant subject, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Experience working in transport, highways, sustainable travel or active travel projects, including scheme development and delivery.
  • Understanding of planning application processes where transport and active travel are material considerations.
  • Experience of stakeholder engagement, negotiation and partnership working.

We encourage you to contact Tony Leckenby, Public Transport Team Leader via email at ***email_hidden*** to arrange an informal discussion about the role.
