Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust (WWPT) was established in 2014 with the mission of saving and securing the future of Grade I Listed Wentworth Woodhouse for the benefit of the nation.

Since taking ownership of the site in 2017, the Trust has evolved into much more than a restoration project. At the heart of its work is a commitment to creating opportunities for those who need them most, connecting communities with heritage and delivering a rich, varied and exciting cultural offer. Role Description

The Marketing Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at Wentworth Woodhouse in Rotherham. This position is responsible for planning and delivering marketing campaigns that promote the House, Gardens, tours, events, and exhibitions to diverse audiences. Day-to-day tasks include developing and executing marketing strategies, creating and overseeing content for digital channels, managing social media and email marketing, and coordinating print and onsite promotional materials. The Marketing Manager will monitor campaign performance, analyze visitor and engagement data, and use insights to refine marketing activities and support income generation and audience development. The role also involves collaborating closely with colleagues across operations, events, fundraising, and visitor experience to ensure consistent messaging and effective promotion of the Trust’s vision and activities.

Qualifications

  • Experience in marketing strategy development and campaign planning, ideally within heritage, tourism, cultural, or nonprofit sectors.
  • Strong digital marketing skills, including social media management, email marketing, website content coordination, and basic analytics.
  • Proficiency in creating clear, engaging marketing content for different channels and audiences, with strong copywriting and editing abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate with internal teams and external partners, and deliver to deadlines and budgets.
  • Comfortable working with data and metrics to evaluate marketing performance and inform future activity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative working style and commitment to inclusive, community-focused engagement.
  • Relevant professional experience in marketing; a degree or professional qualification in marketing, communications, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Interest in heritage, culture, and place-based regeneration, and willingness to work onsite in a historic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a changing, long-term project context.
