About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed

Public Services Lecturer to join our high-performing Sport, Public Services and Tourism department.

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver engaging and innovative teaching across a range of Public Services programmes. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the sector and the ability to inspire learners through both classroom-based and practical delivery.

You will contribute to a dynamic team focused on delivering high-quality learning experiences, supporting learner success, and preparing students for progression into public service careers or further study.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Public Services provision
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons, including practical sessions and blended/online learning
  • Act as a Course Tutor, supporting student progress, achievement and wellbeing
  • Monitor and track learner performance, identifying and supporting individual needs
  • Design and develop learning materials across Levels 1–3 (and potentially HE provision)
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement
  • Support educational visits, placements, field trips and enrichment activities
  • Work collaboratively as part of a high-performing team

About you

  • Holds a relevant degree in a Public Services or related subject area
  • Has experience working within a public service sector environment
  • Has experience delivering and assessing within an education or training setting
  • Holds a teaching qualification (or is willing to work towards one)
  • Is passionate about supporting learner progress and achievement
  • Demonstrates creativity and innovation in teaching and learning
  • Can work collaboratively and contribute positively to team performance

Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential
