NHS Fife Screening Team in Public Health provide oversite and governance of national screening programmes.
We are looking for an individual to provide leadership to address inequalities in the uptake of screening programmes in Fife.

We are looking for someone with clear understanding of health inequalities and how they impact on peoples’ health and wellbeing. You will be able to respond to changing demands and deliver at pace. You will also have a key role in working with regional and national colleagues and have an appreciation of local and national policy and strategy.
Key responsibilities for this role include
support the Public Health Screening Team to complete the Screening Inequalities Needs Assessment and support implementation of action plans to enhance the delivery of Screening Programmes and improve patient experience.
to prioritise and implement specific opportunities for actions from the ongoing NHS Fife Screening Inequalities Needs Assessment.
this role will play a critical part in delivering and supporting the Programme to ultimately improve outcomes for residents and reduce health inequalities in relation to screening programmes in Fife.
the role Lead on the implementation of specific health inequalities projects/ programmes ensures the required outcomes are met.
to deliver a project or projects assigned to an agreed direction, timescale and budget.
to work closely with stakeholders in order to ensure that their requirements are met.
to develop and implement appropriate project controls and systems to ensure effective management of risk and financial probity.
co-ordinate initiatives to address screening inequalities in Fife.
contribute and actively participate in the development and implementation of local procedures, protocols and standards and implementation of NHS Fife Policy, ensuring adherence of staff at all times.
to participate in specific projects regarding future service development.
to maintain effective written and verbal communications with patients, relatives, carers and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure patient needs are met and appropriate information is shared and documented.
Working schedule
1 day per week

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
