Salaried GP, Nottingham

Menlo Park International GPs

Background

This is a practice with serious ambition behind it. As part of one an at-scale Primary Care group, it offers something most GP roles simply cannot: a clear, structured career pathway, materially reduced admin, and the kind of digital infrastructure that turns the phrase ‘modern general practice’ into something real. If you want to work in a forward-thinking environment where the admin burden has been deliberately engineered out of your day, and where the next step in your career is already mapped out, this is worth reading.

Location

The practice operates across two sites in Nottingham, on the North side of the city. Nottingham is well connected, with Derby approximately 20 minutes away, Leicester around 30 minutes, and Sheffield roughly 45 minutes by road. The city has excellent rail links and is served by the East Midlands Airport.

The Practice

  • Part of one of the UK’s largest primary care groups, with a structured clinical career pathway from Salaried GP through to Clinical Lead and Regional Medical Director
  • Industry-leading digital model: total triage via an integrated patient app, with around 80% of app requests completed the same day
  • Admin burden significantly lower than most independent practices, typically only 6 to 8 documents per day, with clinical pharmacists handling the bulk of prescription work
  • Dual-site practice based in Nottingham, currently expanding premises and growing its patient list, with a Triage Hub running from the main site
  • Strong clinical support team including a full-time ANP, with wider group infrastructure covering IT, HR, governance, and clinical governance
  • Serves a complex, high-need community with significant pre-diabetes and mental health needs: genuinely rewarding work for the right GP
  • CQC rated Good

Your Role

  • Salaried GP covering both sites, with flexibility on the number of sessions and working days for the right candidate
  • 12 to 15 appointments per session, a mix of telephone and face-to-face at patient choice, supported by the practice’s total triage model
  • Duty Doctor model in place, focused on triage clarifications rather than carrying a full additional clinical list
  • Home visits exist but clinic is reduced accordingly on any day where visits are required
  • Remote working available where in-person cover is already confirmed for that shift
  • Suitable for a newly qualified GP, with clinical support and debrief confirmed in place
  • Uses SystmOne

Salary And Benefits

  • Sessional rate of £11,000 to £12,000 per session
  • NHS Pension
  • Indemnity paid in full
  • 30 days annual leave pro rata, plus bank holidays
  • 1 week study leave pro rata
  • Perkbox employee benefits
