About the Role

We're looking for a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a high-volume, fast-paced contract managing ~4,500 properties .

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your commercial skills while working closely with experienced Surveyors and operational teams .

Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Financial Management

  • Maximise contract value and entitlement
  • Manage ~200 exclusions per month & 25–30 voids
  • Carry out site measurements and take-offs
  • Monitor weekly materials & subcontractor spend vs forecasts
  • Support production of cost/value reports and commercial insight

Procurement & Subcontractor Management

  • Issue purchase orders & scopes for void works
  • Process subcontractor applications within contractual timeframes
  • Develop understanding of procurement and subcontract processes

Project & Cost Control

  • Scope repair works and voids using NHF Schedule of Rates
  • Maintain accurate site records (materials, variations, dayworks)
  • Assist in monthly reporting and CVR processes

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors & internal teams
  • Communicate professionally and confidently
  • Support operational teams with commercial awareness reports
  • ️ Development & Process
  • Learn and apply commercial processes to maximise returns
  • Build knowledge of contracts, cost control & valuation
  • Take ownership of your personal and professional development

️ Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Carry out site safety checks
  • Support best practice across health & safety standards

About You

Studying towards (or completed) a construction-related degree

Strong interest in quantity surveying & cost management

Good understanding of:

  • Construction methods ️
  • Cost control & valuation
  • Contract administration

Excellent communication & relationship-building skills

Highly organised with a proactive mindset

Keen to learn, develop and grow within the business
