Deputy Manager – Wigan
At Beluga Rox we are seeking a Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager to assist leading our client's service based at a beautiful office in Wigan, which is already well established.
This is a key role for someone who enjoys responsibility, takes pride in high standards, and wants to make a real difference to the lives of others. You’ll work alongside the Registered Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, maintain quality, and build a strong, supportive culture.
What you’ll be doing
As Deputy Manager, you’ll play an active role in delivering excellent care and ensuring everything runs smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Registered Manager in leading the service and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Ensuring care plans are person-centred and up to date, with support for staff to deliver care that truly reflects clients’ needs and preferences.
- Monitoring quality and safety through audits, spot checks, and continuous improvement activities.
- Coordinating rotas and staffing to ensure clients are covered reliably, with a focus on continuity of care.
- Handling client relationships—responding to concerns promptly, communicating effectively, and improving outcomes.
- Managing investigations and incidents in line with safeguarding procedures, ensuring learning is captured and actions are followed through.
- Supporting training, coaching and development—helping colleagues grow, understand expectations, and feel confident in their roles.
- Working in partnership with families, professionals, and internal teams to provide joined-up, proactive care.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who can bring empathy, common sense, and strong leadership to the role. Ideally, you’ll have experience in a care setting, with the confidence to step in when needed and the ability to motivate others.
We’d especially value:
- Experience in a supervisory or management capacity within care (or a strong deputy/lead background).
- A clear understanding of quality, safeguarding, and compliance in social care.
- Strong communication skills—calm under pressure, clear when it matters, and respectful with clients and families.
- The ability to lead by example, setting standards and supporting teams to deliver them.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
If you’re passionate about making care better and you want to be part of a team that takes pride in doing things properly, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re committed to recognising the effort that goes into great care. You can expect fantastic pay and frequent reward and recognition, alongside genuine career opportunities for the right person. Whether you’re looking to build on your management experience or take the next step in your leadership journey, we’ll support you to grow.
