Public Health Community Staff Nurse 5-19 School Nursing North Hertfordshire and Stevenage

An exciting opportunity has arisen for dynamic and motivated Band 5 Public Health Staff Nurse's to work within the School Nursing Team based in North Hertfordshire. We are looking for a Band 5 who is able to work autonomously and manage their own caseload, but who can also work as part of a team.

We are looking for Public Health Staff Nurse's to join our workforce to deliver high quality care to our service users in an integrated model with Family Support Services.

As well as working with individual children and young people, our focus is on developing local public health plans with schools and the wider community.

You will also be working with home educated children under the guidance of a Specialist Public Health Nurse.

You are required to hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use with business insurance (unless the member of staff has a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010), and you will be expected to drive across the county on all roads to attend training and support other teams as required.

You Will

  • Be a skilled team player working in a skill mix team under the guidance of a Specialist Practitioner (5-19) as well as being able to work autonomously.
  • Have excellent communication skills to use with a variety of clients, professionals & staff
  • Have a full valid driving license and access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

HCT Public Health Nursing Team 5-19 is an innovative service that is using electronic health assessments at key stages to help identify individuals requiring early intervention pathways as well as determining public health needs of local communities. HCT also uses Chat health text messaging service and has implemented two health websites for use by children, young people, families & professionals.

The service is committed to mobile working and experience of electronic record keeping would be an advantage although full training will be given.
