Fixed Term Consultant in Plastic Surgery (3 months)

We are looking for an ambitious Plastic Surgery Consultant to work at the West Suffolk Hospital Foundation Trust on a fixed term contract. This is an exciting challenge for a Plastic Surgery specialist who is keen to get involved in delivering an excellent care and close connections with the Major Trauma Centre. There is also a fantastic opportunity to share and contribute your expertise into the future design and service of a new Plastic Surgery Department within the new build West Suffolk Hospital.

  • To provide appropriate plastic surgery services as directed
  • To offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems both emergency and elective within specialty
  • To contribute to meeting the Surgical Directorate objectives
  • To undertake appropriate projects and administration as required by the department
  • To provide clinical services in line with the Trust’s clinical governance arrangements, which are designed to ensure that, agreed quality standards are achieved
  • To undertake audit of clinical practice within the department to ensure that current standards and evidence-based practice are applied
  • All career doctors are required to maintain and develop their clinical skills. Individual training and development needs will be identified through an appraisal process taking into account Royal College requirements. Full utilisation of study leave is encouraged
  • To work within the Trust’s clinical risk management policies and in particular to participate as appropriate in critical incident reporting.
