Peer Family Supporter

The post holder will provide a high standard of information and support to children and their families in a range of settings (home, communities, Family Hubs and groups etc.) The post holder, following appropriate training will work with appropriate supervision to undertake a range of tasks and group delivery. The role supports emotional wellbeing, parent-infant relationships and attachment, building relationships, providing person-centred approaches, empowering families and building confidence in the First 1001 Critical Days.
Ø To support parents, carers, children/young people and their families with low level issues around infant feeding, managing emotional health, or general areas of concern.
Ø To support parent/infant relationships and promote sensitive and attuned parenting to develop secure attachments.
Ø Increase confidence, community integration and improve wellbeing through coordination of activities available across the partnership for example, Stay and Play groups, wellbeing walks, and packages of care.
Ø Provide parenting support, through home learning, supporting child development, speech and language, child accident prevention and school readiness.
Ø Support with the Joint delivery family Hub Programmes, and national evidence-based programmes.
Ø Support the development of peer-led parenting groups.

Ø Support with addressing food insecurity; Healthy Start initiatives; Fun and Food initiatives; reducing isolation within communities and promoting of SEND peer support groups.
