Swindon Hub CIO is a community-focused organisation dedicated to providing accessible and inclusive spaces for people in Swindon. The Hub is here for everyone, offering a place for people, groups and organisations to connect, collaborate, and grow.

Role Description

The Director will provide strategic leadership for Swindon Hub CIO, ensuring that its vision of an accessible, inclusive, and welcoming community space is realised in day-to-day operations.

This is a brand new role for a person with passion, energy, experience, and commitment. We are looking for someone to take a lead, working closely with trustees and staff, to build on where we've got to and take the Hub to the next level.

The focus will be on consolidating current activity, developing sustainable income streams, and bringing to life a new plan for further development for the coming months and years.

You’ll be joining a great little team - two Hub Coordinators. seven trustees and over 50 volunteers who keep the Hub running, support our website and social media, and much more.

Qualifications

  • Leadership and management skills, including experience guiding teams, groups, or organisations.
  • Strategic planning and organisational development skills, with the ability to set goals and oversee delivery.
  • Financial literacy and governance experience, such as budgeting, monitoring expenditure, and supporting compliance.
  • Community engagement and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build partnerships and represent the organisation.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in not-for-profit, charity, or community-sector work is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to work on-site in Swindon, manage a varied workload, and make informed decisions with limited resources.
  • Commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and sustainability, and alignment with the values of Swindon Hub CIO.
