Children’s Social Care Business Support Officer (Grade 4)

Are you organised, proactive and committed to providing excellent support services? We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Business Support Officer to join our friendly and supportive team within Lancashire County Council’s Education and Children’s Directorate.

This is a rewarding opportunity to play an important role in supporting Children’s Social Care. By providing high-quality administrative and business support, you will help colleagues deliver effective services for children, young people and families across Lancashire.

About the role

  • Post type: Permanent/temporary
  • Working pattern: * days per week
  • Base location: Fernandes Centre, 7–9 North Street, Burnley, BB10 1LU
  • Working arrangement: Hybrid working is currently in place, with a combination of home and office working

In this varied role, you will provide professional, efficient and responsive support to managers, social workers, families, members of the public and colleagues across the wider service.

What you will bring

  • A strong commitment to delivering an excellent service and getting things right first time
  • A positive, flexible and proactive approach to work
  • The confidence to work independently and ask for support when needed
  • Experience in an administrative or business support environment, or the ability to demonstrate relevant transferable skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and databases
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with a wide range of people
  • The ability to listen carefully, understand individual needs and respond in a professional and respectful way
  • A commitment to inclusion, confidentiality and treating people with dignity and respect
