Competitive starting salary range from £46,115 up to £52,597 (dependent on experience) with the potential to progress. A discretionary range for candidates with exceptional experience can be discussed/considered

The Role
As Assistant Professor (Teaching) in Mental Health Nursing you will undertake teaching and course co-ordination while supporting the development and delivery of undergraduate, professional programs and other core activities ensuring students have an effective learning experience. You will also lead on aspects of the student learning experience including the leadership of staff teams.
Based on campus within the School of Health and Care, you will work with and lead other academic colleagues to enrich the student learning and teaching experience to ensure, as appropriate, relevant aspects of research, enterprise and professional context are embedded in modules and courses.
Duties include
Course coordination as appropriate to the role.
Leading the curation, adaptation, design, and development of module and course teaching materials and contributing to ongoing Curriculum Development.
Teaching on modules and courses at HE levels 4-7, and leading teams of teaching staff.
Assessing students across levels 4 - 7.
Leading moderation and quality assurance of appropriate module assessment.
Line management.
Academic Assessor role.
Delivering Simulated Practice Learning.
Offering supervsion to MSc and BSc dissertations students.
Support/ leading on Admission Activities.
Qualifications Required
Active and Live NMC Registration in Mental Health Nursing
Master’s degree in an appropriate health related subject
A good BSc (Hons) Degree.
A teaching qualification or extensive experience of delivering professional and/or university education
PhD or active membership of an appropriate professional body would be advantageous.
Our Successful Candidate
You will have demonstrable experience of successful teaching at higher education levels 4-7 in Mental Health Nursing. You will have experience of leading on curriculum design and delivery and can demonstrate best practice in teaching, learning and assessment consistent with our reputation and track record as a high-quality provider of teaching and learning.
An experienced team leader with good level of digital fluency, you will have experience using creating teaching materials for face to face and online teaching using a VLE.
Enthusiastic and self-motivated, you will have experience in the development and enhancement of an ‘active learning’ pedagogy as appropriate to the academic subject area.
As a global education provider, high levels of cultural awareness with experience of learner’s cultural differences and expectations with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds is essential.
Innovation and collaboration are key to our success, therefore the ability to generate and follow through innovative ideas, work both independently and part of a wider team with the willingness to engage in flexible ways of working are key skills required for this role.
