Our team is Liaison Psychiatry, and now—we’re looking for our next Band 7 Team Lead to help lead and shape this vital service.

As a Band 7 Team Lead, you will play a leading role in delivering expert mental health care to patients presenting with a wide range of psychiatric, psychological, and behavioural needs across the Emergency Department and the inpatient general wards. This is a leadership post with purpose and ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment
You will be an excellent communicator, able to demonstrate strong coordination and leadership across the Mental Health Liaison Team at St Richards Hospital, with a particular focus on;
- Managing referrals and overseeing the delivery of care
- Monitoring service performance and supporting operational management of the team
- Ensuring the team functions in line with the Care Group’s core business objectives
- Building trusted relationships with local partners and contributing to the continued development of the urgent care pathway
- Improving patient experience and outcomes
- Support staff, patients, and families through some of their most challenging moments
- Able to lead, inspire, and support others within the team
- Committed to clinical excellence, service development, and professional growth
This role is centred around collaborative leadership, driving positive change, and creating a working environment where colleagues can thrive.
We welcome applications from registered mental health nurses, occupational therapists, and social workers with relevant professional registration, who possess strong managerial and leadership skills.
We provide mental health and learning disability care for children, young people, and adults across Sussex, as well as specialist services for children and young people in Hampshire.
