Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic
Project Controls Assistant to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland.
Role Purpose: The programme is designed to develop proficiency across Planning, Cost Control, Change Control, Risk Management, Document Management, and buisiness Information Modelling (BIM). The structure allocates the longest developmental periods to Planning and Cost Control, reflecting their criticality to project success.
What you'll be doing
Planning
Develop understanding of programme development, critical path analysis,
sequencing logic, baseline control, progress measurement, look-ahead
planning, contractor/client interfaces, and Primavera P6 application. Exposure to
NEC programme requirements, change impact assessment, and integrated
programme governance.
Cost control
Gain experience in budgeting, forecasting, earned value principles, cost
tracking, accruals, reporting cycles, trend analysis, and financial governance.
Understand relationship between cost and schedule performance.
Change control
Understand compensation events, change registers, impact assessment, governance approvals, change workflows, commercial interfaces, and
traceability of scope/time/cost impacts.
Risk management
Learn qualitative and quantitative risk assessment, mitigation planning, risk
registers, escalation processes, opportunity management, and integration
of risk into project controls reporting.
Document control
Develop understanding of document workflows, revision control, transmittals,
compliance, audit trails, information governance, and coordination between
engineering, procurement and delivery teams.
BIM / Digital systems
Gain exposure to BIM coordination, digital reporting tools, data integration,
dashboards, systems interfaces, and how digital solutions support planning, cost,
construction visibility and short term planning
