Citizens Advice Solent East is seeking a passionate Prevention Champion to deliver a public health-led programme aimed at reducing gambling harm across Portsmouth, Havant, Gosport and surrounding areas.
This role focuses on raising awareness, reducing stigma and promoting safer behaviours through engaging sessions in schools (Years 7–9), youth hubs and community settings. You will help young people and communities better understand gambling risks, supporting early identification and preventing escalation to crisis.
You will build strong partnerships with schools, youth providers and voluntary sector organisations, ensuring the programme is inclusive and reaches diverse and vulnerable groups. The role also involves supporting outreach campaigns, community engagement activities and digital messaging to encourage help-seeking and behaviour change.
A key part of the role is early intervention and safeguarding, including recognising risks, signposting to appropriate support services and maintaining accurate, confidential records in line with UK GDPR.
You will collect feedback and data to demonstrate impact and continually improve delivery, ensuring the programme remains effective and accessible.
The role requires travel across the local area and a flexible approach to working.
At Citizens Advice Solent East, we are committed to equality, inclusion and high-quality community support, and you will play a vital part in creating safer, healthier communities.
