Ocean Healthcare is looking for a caring and reliable Healthcare Assistant to provide 1:1 support for an adult with Huntington’s disease. No previous care experience is needed, as full training and ongoing support will be provided.
He has Huntington’s disease, which affects his movement, mobility, and speech. He needs support with his daily routine, personal care, medication, and nutrition. His care is structured and guided by a clear care plan, with training provided for all clinical tasks.
He receives his nutrition, hydration, and medication through a feeding tube. Staff will be fully trained to support this safely and to understand what to look out for if he becomes unwell.
He enjoys spending time with his family, attending his Huntington’s Disease Association support group, going out on the bus, visiting the cinema, and listening to audiobooks at home. Maintaining his independence, routine, and social connections is important to his emotional wellbeing.
Shift Details
Monday-Thursday: 08:00 – 20:00
Pay Rates
£14.30 p/hr

Key Responsibilities
1:1 Support
Supporting with medication, nutrition, and hydration after full training

Monitoring his wellbeing and reporting any concerns
What We’re Looking For
No previous care experience is needed, as full training will be provided
A calm, reliable and compassionate approach to care
Someone who is confident following clear care plans and training
The ideal candidate will be caring, dependable, and willing to learn. Y ou do not need previous experience in complex care, feeding tube care, or medication administration, as full training and ongoing support will be provided. What matters most is that you are calm, observant, and able to follow care plans carefully.
What You'll Need
Good References (covering at least 3 years)
You must be a car driver
Reliability and good communication
Right to to work in the UK
