As a service, First Response is one big team comprising of the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH); 4 duty teams; the Out of Hours service, EVOLVE (exploitation) and ENGAGE (crisis support). We are currently recruiting to a temporary Social Work post in the MASH this is to cover maternity leave.
This is a vital role where you will support the early identification and assessment of risk, ensuring that children, young people, and vulnerable adults receive the right help at the right time.
Working within a dynamic multi-agency environment, you will collaborate with professionals from social care, police, health, education, and other partner agencies to share information, assess risk, and make informed decisions to ensure families are on the correct trajectory at the earliest point.
Key Responsibilities
Triage and screen help and harm referrals, assessing risk and need.
Gather, analyse, and share information from partner agencies
Make timely, evidence-based decisions to safeguard children and vulnerable individuals
Provide professional advice and guidance to referrers and partner organisations
Ensure compliance with safeguarding legislation, policies, and procedures
Maintain accurate, high-quality case records
About You
Has experience working within safeguarding and social care and can hit the ground running.
Can make sound, defensible decisions under pressure
Has excellent communication and partnership-working skills
Is highly organised with strong analytical and report-writing abilities
Is committed to achieving the best outcomes for children and vulnerable people
You will be passionate about maximising a child’s life chances.
