About the Role

Zen Educate is looking for caring and reliable SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Special Educational Needs in schools across Mansfield and the surrounding Nottinghamshire area. This role involves working closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils access learning and develop both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with SEN.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and learning activities.
  • Support pupils with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties.
  • Help manage behaviour and encourage positive engagement in the classroom.
  • Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual needs.
  • Support pupils with social, emotional and communication development.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school or SEN setting.
  • A patient, supportive and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting pupils with autism, SEMH or complex needs.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and individual learning plans.
