Teaching Assistant Level 2
Craven Primary Academy are looking to appoint two Teaching Assistants Level 2 to join our academy in September 2026, on a temporary, part time basis.
Do you want to work for a Trust that is transforming educational outcomes for students in some of the most deprived areas in the North of England? If so, this could be the role for you.
Your new role
As a Teaching Assistant Level 2, you will work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff to undertake work/care/support programmes to enable access to learning for pupils and assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. You may carry out work in the classroom or outside the main teaching area.
This role is focused on supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to access learning and achieve their individual targets. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver planned interventions and provide tailored support within an extended classroom environment. This provision enables pupils to learn in a setting that best meets their needs, helping them to develop confidence, independence and progress within a supportive and nurturing environment while remaining fully connected to their wider class learning.
We are proud to offer two dedicated extended classrooms within our school and warmly encourage prospective candidates to arrange a visit. This provides an excellent opportunity to see our provision in action, meet members of the team and gain a deeper understanding of the role and the support we provide for our SEND pupils.
Please see the attached job description on our website for the essential criteria and more information on the role.
If you feel you have the necessary skills and experience required for this position, then we would very much like to hear from you.
Your new school
With 210 pupils aged between 3 and 11 housed in our academy, Craven is a friendly and vibrant place that serves the community of the Drypool ward, but many children from further afield attend because of our excellent reputation. We are a popular choice of school for the community, and each year our reception is heavily oversubscribed. We pride ourselves on the high levels of academic standards that our children reach, but also the responsible young citizens they develop into during their time with us.
Why join us?
Staff across the trust are talented and enthusiastic, and all contribute to the trust’s success story.
At Mersey Primary Academy, we value the continuous professional development of all our employees and recognise that our staff and students are most successful when they feel happy, valued, challenged and supported to achieve their very best.
