Job Overview

The Catering Department at Bronglais Hospital is currently looking to recruit a Cook to join a large team of individuals within the department, to provide an effective and efficient cooking service.

The successful candidate will play an integral role within the team, whilst ensuring that the food is prepared to the highest standard.

Full training will be given, but the successful candidate will be required to hold a City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or the equivalent.

The contract available is 1 x 22.5 hour post.

Main duties of the job

This contract is to work various days in the week, on a six week rolling rota. You will be required to work weekends and to include Bank Holidays as and when required, for which an additional payment is made.

Duties will include:

  • Cooking home made meals and salads for patients, staff and the general public.
  • To prepare special dietary meals for patients as and when required.
  • To keep cooking area clean and tidy at all times and complete relevant HACCP forms.

Full training will be provided within the department.

Hours of work are between 07:00am - 20:00pm.

Successful candidates will receive staff uniform.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
