About The Role
Salary: Grade 7 SCP 20 – £16.90 per hour
Hours: 35 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (11.00am - 6.30pm term time)
Contract: Temporary – - this for one year initially. Subject to the childcare provision being successful, this may be extended.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced childcare professional to take responsibility for the day-to-day management and operation of Rhws Rangers Childcare.
As Childcare Manager, you will lead and support a team of staff, oversee the planning and delivery of engaging play opportunities, ensure compliance with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) requirements, and maintain a safe, happy and inclusive environment for all children.
Key responsibilities include
- Managing the daily operation of the childcare provision.
- Leading, supervising and developing staff through training, appraisals and support.
- Ensuring compliance with CIW regulations, National Minimum Standards and safeguarding requirements.
- Maintaining and reviewing policies, procedures and quality assurance systems.
- Managing staffing rotas and ensuring appropriate staff-to-child ratios.
- Monitoring finances, bookings, attendance records and administrative systems.
- Working closely with parents, school leaders, governors and external agencies.
- Supporting the planning and delivery of high-quality play opportunities, including holiday provision.
- Promoting a safe, inclusive and child-centred environment where children can enjoy positive play experiences.
About You
We are looking for someone who
Essiental Requirements
- Holds at least a Level 3 Children's Care, Play, Learning and Development qualification.
- Hold at least a Level 3 Diploma in Playwork
- Has at least two years' experience working within a childcare setting.
- Has experience of leading or supervising a team.
- Has knowledge of Care Inspectorate Wales requirements and National Minimum Standards for Regulated Childcare.
- Understands safeguarding, child development and health and safety requirements.
- Demonstrates excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Can build positive relationships with children, families, staff and the wider school community.
- Is committed to providing high-quality, child-centred play opportunities
