About the Role

Din Solicitors is seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Solicitor to lead and develop our Litigation and Personal Injury Department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident litigator who understands the modern personal injury landscape and can successfully navigate the challenges presented by the Official Injury Claim (OIC) portal and the Small Claims Track reforms.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising fee earners and support staff, identifying opportunities to maximise costs recovery, progressing suitable matters to litigation, and providing technical guidance across a busy claimant practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Litigation and Personal Injury Department.
  • Supervise and mentor litigators and pre-litigation staff.
  • Vet new instructions and assess prospects of success.
  • Develop strategies to maximise recoverable costs.
  • Identify and progress suitable matters into litigation.
  • Advise on causation disputes, low velocity impact (LVI) allegations and fraud concerns.
  • Prepare cases for trial and conduct or supervise litigation where liability, causation or credibility are in dispute.
  • Review medical evidence and expert reports.
  • Ensure compliance with CPR, Pre-Action Protocols and SRA requirements.
  • Manage departmental performance and case progression.
  • Assist in developing systems and processes to improve profitability and outcomes.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • Qualified Solicitor with current practising certificate.
  • Strong background in Personal Injury and Civil Litigation.
  • Excellent understanding of CPR and costs recovery.
  • Experience handling litigated matters from inception to trial.
  • Causation disputes
  • Low Velocity Impact (LVI) claims
  • Fundamental Dishonesty allegations
  • Fraud investigations
  • Strong case management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to supervise and develop junior staff.
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to business development.

Desirable:

  • Experience of credit hire litigation.
  • Knowledge of the Official Injury Claim (OIC) Portal.
  • Experience identifying exceptions to the Small Claims Track and securing Fast Track allocation where appropriate.
  • Advocacy experience.
