We are an ambitious football club dedicated to delivering high-performance standards across all areas of the game. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Football Physiotherapist or Sports Therapist to join our medical and performance department.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a professional football environment, supporting player health, rehabilitation, injury prevention, and performance optimisation.
Role Overview
The Physiotherapist or Sports Therapist will play a key role in the assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and ongoing care of players across the club. Working closely with coaching, sports science, and medical staff, the successful candidate will ensure players are physically prepared to perform at their highest level.
The role requires excellent clinical knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced sporting environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of player injuries.
• Deliver pitch-side emergency aid and match-day medical support.
• Develop and implement individual rehabilitation and return-to-play programmes.
• Monitor player wellness, recovery, and injury prevention strategies.
• Liaise closely with coaching staff regarding player availability and physical condition.
• Maintain accurate medical records and injury reports.
• Assist with screening, physical testing, and monitoring processes.
• Support players with recovery protocols, mobility work, and injury management.
• Ensure medical equipment and treatment areas are maintained to professional standards.
• Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary performance team. Essential Skills & Experience
• Degree in Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy.
• HCPC and CSP registration (or equivalent governing body registration).
• Experience working within football or elite sport.
• Excellent knowledge of musculoskeletal injuries and rehabilitation practices.
• Current Emergency Aid / ATMMiF qualification (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work week days, evenings, weekends, and match-days.
Desirable Qualifications
• Previous experience in professional football.
• FA Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF).
• Experience with GPS monitoring and athlete load management.
• Strength & Conditioning knowledge or qualifications. Personal Attributes
