We are looking for an exceptional Assistant SENDCo to join our team, someone who is committed to championing high-quality provision and ensuring all students can thrive, regardless of their starting point.

About You

You are a compassionate and highly organised individual who believes every student deserves the opportunity to succeed. You understand the importance of tailored support and are motivated by helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

You build positive relationships with ease, whether that’s with students, families, or colleagues and you communicate clearly, sensitively, and professionally. You’re proactive, detail-oriented, and take pride in ensuring support plans are both meaningful and impactful.

About the role

As Assistant SENDCo, you will support the leadership and coordination of SEND provision across the academy. You’ll help ensure that students with additional needs receive effective, targeted support and that staff are equipped to meet those needs in the classroom.

Working closely with the SENDCo and wider pastoral and teaching teams, you’ll play a key role in promoting inclusive practice and ensuring every student feels supported, valued, and able to achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination and delivery of SEND provision across the academy
  • Assist in managing and reviewing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and support plans
  • Work with staff to ensure high-quality teaching and support for students with SEND
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and external agencies
  • Monitor student progress and contribute to intervention planning
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with SEND processes
  • Promote an inclusive culture where all students can succeed
