Are you passionate about helping others achieve their goals? The Maximising Independence Service (MIS) is looking for a Promoting Independence Worker to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support individuals aged 17.5 years and over for up to 12 weeks, using a strengths-based approach to promote independence and wellbeing. Your work will involve providing information, advice, and short-term support to help people regain their confidence and skills.

As a Promoting Independence Worker, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering reablement-focused programmes to help individuals build daily living skills.
  • Identifying opportunities for independence and connecting people to appropriate community services.
  • Promoting social inclusion by encouraging participation in community activities.
  • Providing information and support to individuals and their carers.
  • Maintaining accurate records and monitoring ongoing support to ensure effectiveness.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve the best outcomes for service users.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant health or social care qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • At least two years of experience in care work (paid, voluntary, or personal).
  • Knowledge of community care services and relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014.
  • Proficiency in using IT applications for record-keeping and reporting.
