About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and detail‑focused Casual Domestic/Laundry Assistant to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This role provides flexible cover for sickness, holidays, and additional service demands.
Key Responsibilities
Domestic duties
- Clean communal areas, offices, bathrooms, corridors, and resident rooms.
- Vacuum, mop, sweep, dust, and polish.
- Clean bathrooms/toilets and replenish consumables.
- Empty bins and manage waste.
- Follow cleaning schedules and complete records.
- Use cleaning chemicals/equipment safely.
- Report maintenance issues.
- Work effectively as part of the team.
Laundry duties
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, iron, and fold items.
- Operate laundry equipment safely.
- Follow correct procedures for soiled laundry.
- Return items to the correct residents.
- Maintain laundry room cleanliness.
- Monitor and report low stock levels.
General
- Follow infection control, health & safety, and organisational policies. Provide excellent customer service

Person Specification
Essential
- Good attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
Understanding of health & safety and infection control.
Desirable
- Previous domestic/cleaning experience.
- Experience in a care or healthcare environment.
