Senior Probate Paralegal – Middleton
We are currently looking for a Senior Probate Paralegal to join our client's Probate team based in Middleton. This is a permanent role involving a broad range of Probate, Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney matters. You will manage your own caseload and work closely with colleagues to deliver a high standard of client service while supporting the continued development of the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of Probate, Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney matters from instruction to completion
- Maintaining and housekeeping files on the case management system
- Providing a friendly, knowledgeable and professional service to clients
- Working closely with elderly clients and grieving families
- Visiting clients in nursing homes and private residences where required
- Taking instructions for Wills and Powers of Attorney
- Drafting Wills and Powers of Attorney documentation
- Progressing matters within agreed timescales and meeting all deadlines
- Maintaining accurate and complete files and records
- Preparing routine correspondence and documentation
- Collating reports and supporting documents, including photocopying and scanning where appropriate
- Developing transferable skills across the wider business
- Taking a proactive approach to personal and professional development
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will bring with them/be:
- Previous experience handling Probate, Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney matters
- Good technical knowledge of Wills, LPAs and Estate Administration
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong IT and word processing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional telephone manner
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Self-motivated, reliable and proactive
- Flexible approach and willingness to develop new skills
- Positive attitude and strong client care skills
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use
Details
- Salary up to £32,000 per annum, dependent on experience
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm
- 25 days holiday per year plus Bank Holidays
