Senior Probate Paralegal – Middleton

We are currently looking for a Senior Probate Paralegal to join our client's Probate team based in Middleton. This is a permanent role involving a broad range of Probate, Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney matters. You will manage your own caseload and work closely with colleagues to deliver a high standard of client service while supporting the continued development of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a caseload of Probate, Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney matters from instruction to completion
  • Maintaining and housekeeping files on the case management system
  • Providing a friendly, knowledgeable and professional service to clients
  • Working closely with elderly clients and grieving families
  • Visiting clients in nursing homes and private residences where required
  • Taking instructions for Wills and Powers of Attorney
  • Drafting Wills and Powers of Attorney documentation
  • Progressing matters within agreed timescales and meeting all deadlines
  • Maintaining accurate and complete files and records
  • Preparing routine correspondence and documentation
  • Collating reports and supporting documents, including photocopying and scanning where appropriate
  • Developing transferable skills across the wider business
  • Taking a proactive approach to personal and professional development

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will bring with them/be:

  • Previous experience handling Probate, Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney matters
  • Good technical knowledge of Wills, LPAs and Estate Administration
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong IT and word processing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional telephone manner
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Self-motivated, reliable and proactive
  • Flexible approach and willingness to develop new skills
  • Positive attitude and strong client care skills
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use

Details

  • Salary up to £32,000 per annum, dependent on experience
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm
  • 25 days holiday per year plus Bank Holidays
