Firs Primary School is seeking to appoint a dynamic, ambitious and inspirational School Business Assistant to provide administration, reception and finance support.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a reliable, friendly and motivated individual to join our supportive admin team. We are looking for someone who will provide a welcoming and professional service at our busy school. You will be able to demonstrate good communication skills, as you will be one of the first points of contact for parents and visitors on a reception desk and will also handle telephone enquiries.
The ideal person will have administrative experience, preferably within a school setting. In addition to reception duties and general administration support, this role will assist with the school’s finance function, working closely with the School Business Manager. This will include ensuring that all procedures are carried out effectively and efficiently and in accordance with school policies. You will need to demonstrate attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office/365 is required, experience of Arbor and Sage Intacct would be an advantage, but not essential if you are able to demonstrate the experience we are looking for.
Due to the changing demands of the office a flexible approach is needed, along with patience, a sense of humour and a positive attitude. If this sounds like you, then we would love to hear from you.
Firs is a Good school, as confirmed at our last Ofsted inspection in June 2022. The Inspectors felt that: “Firs Primary School is an inclusive, happy and welcoming school. The ‘Firsy Five’ values are at the heart of everything staff and pupils do. Staff and pupils ensure that everyone, including those who are new to the country, feel safe and welcomed…This is a school that cares for all.”
The school is proud of its diverse community and is keen to appoint a new member to help us in our continuing efforts to support our pupils in helping them to feel secure, supported and loved whilst enabling them to achieve academic success and emotional and social wellbeing.
As School Business Assistant you will need to share our commitment and vision and will be part of a team of likeminded colleagues, this post will suit someone who is passionate and motivated. Our vision “Learning, Growing and Achieving Together” underpins our approach and values so it is important that the successful candidate can fully embrace and embody this philosophy.
DDAT welcomes a diverse population of both children and staff and is committed to promoting and developing equality of opportunity in all its functions.
DDAT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references, online checks, completion of a probationary period, pre-employment and Disclosure Barring Service checks. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants are required to declare any cautions, convictions, reprimands and final warnings that are not protected (i.e. that are not filtered out) as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013 and 2020).
