Marketing & Communications Manager

Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer

Hours: Part-time, 3-4 days per week

Our client, a leading provider of specialist asset integrity solutions to the global energy sector, is seeking an experienced Marketing & Communications Manager to lead and deliver its global marketing strategy.

This is a senior-level position focused on supporting business development growth through the creation of compelling marketing campaigns, high-impact sales enablement materials, and strategic brand positioning across the oil & gas, offshore renewables, maritime, and engineering sectors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for translating complex technical services into engaging commercial narratives that help drive market awareness, generate opportunities, and support the global business development team in securing high-value contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and continuous enhancement of a comprehensive sales and marketing toolkit, including presentation decks, technical capability statements, case studies, digital assets, and video content tailored to key industry sectors.
  • Act as the custodian of the company’s global brand, ensuring consistency across all internal and external communications, marketing materials, and digital platforms.
  • Develop and maintain a centralised digital asset library containing photography, video content, animations, and technical visuals that support business development and social selling activities.
  • Collaborate closely with proposal and bid teams to create visually compelling and commercially persuasive tender submissions, presentations, and client-facing documentation.
  • Plan, manage, and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print, social media, and industry channels.
  • Transform complex technical services and engineering solutions into compelling challenge-and-solution narratives for use in white papers, case studies, webinars, thought leadership content, and digital publications.
  • Lead the company's presence at key industry exhibitions, conferences, and events, managing stand design, promotional activities, and pre- and post-event marketing campaigns to maximise engagement and business development opportunities.
  • Manage SEO initiatives through specialist third-party suppliers, ensuring strong search visibility and increased brand awareness among key decision-makers and procurement stakeholders.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and market research to identify industry trends, customer needs, and opportunities for differentiation.
  • Monitor and measure marketing effectiveness, ensuring leads generated through campaigns and events are effectively transferred to the business development team and tracked through to revenue generation.

Candidate Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related discipline.

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior marketing or communications role, ideally within the energy, engineering, industrial, maritime, or technical services sectors.
  • Proven ability to create persuasive technical and commercial content that clearly communicates value, return on investment, operational benefits, compliance, safety improvements, and cost efficiencies.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Advanced knowledge of digital marketing platforms and social media channels, including LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and other professional networking platforms.
  • Proficiency in content creation and design tools such as Canva, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Experience managing and optimising modern Content Management Systems (CMS), including WordPress.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and commercial audiences.
