Job Title: Cafe Assistant
Salary: Hourly rate, according to age and experience
Contract Type: Casual
Line Manager: Catering Manager
The responsibility of the Café Assistant is to support the day-to-day operations of the café, providing excellent customer service, preparing barista-style coffees and basic café food, handling transactions, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with residential catering as needed.
Objectives
Deliver a high-quality, friendly café experience for all customers through efficient service and attention to detail
Support the wider catering team by contributing to food preparation and service for residential and event-based catering
Knowledge, skills and experience - Essential

Friendly and approachable with good communication skills
Strong customer service skills with a positive, "can-do" attitude
Basic food preparation skills and willingness to learn
Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing demands
Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment.
Knowledge, skills and experience - Desirable
- Experience with POS systems
Barista experience or knowledge of coffee preparation
Basic understanding of food safety, hygiene, and health regulations
