Job Title: Facilities Assistant

Location: Nottingham

Salary: BA5 - Points 4-6 £25,185 -£25,989 FTE (£8,872-£9,062 actual salary)

Start Date: September 2026

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Term-Time only (39 weeks) 15 hours per week (6.00pm to 9.00pm)

About You

As a Facilities Assistant at The Bulwell Academy, you will take pride in making a positive difference to the experience of every student, staff member and visitor. You will do so with integrity, reliability and a proactive, can-do approach. Your work will ensure that our environment is safe, secure and well-maintained, enabling high-quality teaching and learning to take place every day.

Our ideal candidate would:

  • Take pride in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment across the Academy site.
  • Carry out a range of maintenance, repair and site duties to a high standard, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the Academy.
  • Be proactive, organised and able to respond effectively to the needs of a busy school environment.
  • Set high standards and act as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism, teamwork and a commitment to our values.
  • Support Academy activities and events, including assisting with room set-ups and wider site requirements.

Requirements

To apply for the Facilities Assistant opportunity, you must have:

  • Numeracy and literacy skills with an ability to keep accurate records
  • Experience of undertaking minor repairs and maintenance tasks
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Experience of working in a customer facing role
  • Awareness and understanding of working in a school environment
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulation, including good practice in relation to caretaking/cleaning/hygiene
