Private Equity Analyst - London
Senna
Overview
This is a one-year structured analyst programme at a global private equity firm focused on pan-European software and technology investment. The programme is entering its third edition and is designed to give early-career candidates meaningful exposure to the full private equity investment cycle, from sourcing and research through to due diligence and deal execution.
The role is based in London and requires a start date of August or September 2026, with a 12-month commitment. Given the firm operates in small, high-performance teams, analysts carry genuine responsibility from day one rather than functioning in a purely supporting capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive thematic and industry research across software and technology services sectors.
- Participate in due diligence processes, including financial modelling, market research, and company analysis.
- Support deal execution activities, including preparing investment presentations and drafting transaction documents.
- Conduct commercial and operational analyses to inform investment decisions.
- Perform financial analysis and valuation modelling on prospective portfolio companies.
- Present investment opportunities and contribute ideas in team meetings and working sessions.
- Engage with the firm's structured training and mentorship programme throughout the year.
Skills & Experience
- Genuine interest in businesses, technology, and investing.
- Strong academic record and demonstrated extracurricular achievement.
- Analytical and quantitative ability; prior exposure to financial modelling is an advantage.
- Clear and confident communicator, comfortable presenting to and collaborating with senior team members.
- Proactive, self-starting attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative.
- Collaborative and team-oriented, comfortable operating in small, high-performance environments.
- Organised, with strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
- Adaptable and quick-thinking, able to respond effectively to shifting priorities.
- Prior relevant experience such as internships in finance, consulting, or technology is beneficial but not required.
- Proficiency in German, French, or Scandinavian languages is actively sought; knowledge of any other European language is considered an advantage.
- Must be available to start in August or September 2026 and commit to the full 12-month programme duration.
Why This Role Stands Out
The firm invests heavily in analyst development through a proprietary continuous learning programme. Past training topics have covered decision-making, high-performance learning environments, and the psychology of influence. The programme is designed to build both technical investment skills and broader professional capabilities in parallel.
Analysts work directly within deal teams rather than in a rotational or siloed structure, which means exposure to live transactions and senior professionals from the outset. The firm's focus on European software and technology provides a clearly defined and high-growth investment context in which to develop a specialist skill set.
Application Process
Candidates should apply directly through the relevant listing. The role is based on-site at the firm's London office on Regent Street, and the expectation is that analysts will be present in the office for the majority of the working week. Only candidates available for the full 12-month programme beginning August or September 2026 will be considered.
