Manchester | Leeds | Birmingham | Newcastle (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

£650/day Umbrella (Inside IR35)

12-Month Contract

We are seeking experienced Senior Java Developers to join a major digital transformation programme delivering high-volume, user-focused digital services used by millions across the UK.

You'll work within Agile, multidisciplinary teams alongside developers, designers, and analysts to design, build, and improve modern digital products and platforms. This is an opportunity to contribute to large-scale systems that have a real impact on people's lives.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Recent experience with Java 21 (or later)
• Strong understanding of TDD and BDD
• Experience building and supporting large-scale microservice architectures
• Strong API development experience
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Comfortable with pair programming
• Experience building automated test suites and supporting CI/CD pipelines
• Strong Linux/Unix knowledge
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Desirable Experience

• Spring ecosystem and enterprise Java frameworks
• Jackson, JAX-RS, Mockito
• Kafka or ActiveMQ
• MongoDB or other NoSQL/document databases
• High-traffic, highly scalable web applications
• Large-scale data processing and storage solutions
