Junior Software Engineer

We're working with a specialist engineering business that operates at the forefront of industrial automation and control systems, delivering innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.

The Role

• Develop system requirements specifications and analyses, software design, and implementation
• Prepare and execute test plans for PLC/SCADA systems
• Support the implementation and testing of industrial automation systems, with cross-training available for Siemens TIA Portal & WinCC
• Contribute to the design and implementation of complex, medium to large-sized industrial automation systems
• Create technical software design documentation throughout the full project lifecycle
• Travel occasionally to customer sites for project support

What You'll Need

• 1-2 years of commercial or relevant experience in software engineering
• Bachelor's degree (2:1 or higher) in a relevant engineering discipline
• Experience with PLC/SCADA systems is beneficial, but willingness to learn Siemens platforms is key
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work through security clearance, requiring British passport holder status and 5 years of UK residency
• Experience working in highly regulated industries is a plus
