Sr. Director - Product Development

In search of a physician career change opportunity or a new non-clinical career? An executive search firm is working with a biotechnology company in New Jersey to fill the position of Sr. Director – Product Development, Portfolio Management.

Role

Leads Project Core Team and Sub-Teams to develop Product Development Plan defining target product profile, budget and timings (milestones).
Guides Core Team through strategic and tactical considerations for assigned drug development projects. Solicits expert input from drug development functions and integrates input into a consolidated development plan.
Acts as advocate for the drug development projects throughout the organization.
Coordinates generation/update of Target Product Profile, Clinical Development Plan, Product Development Plan.
Presents Core Team Proposals to Senior Management as part of the decision-making process.
Gather information from Core Team members to support financial valuation of assigned compounds, reports output to Senior Management.
Works with Finance and function lines to build budgets, monitor spending against budget.

Requirements

Science Degree (Biomedical/Pharmacy/Clinical) Advanced degree preferred
7+ years Healthcare Industry experience, particularly in drug development
In-depth knowledge of the Pharmaceutical R&D process
Strong interpersonal, communication (written and oral) and negotiation skills
Demonstrated analytical and information technology skills and an understanding of project planning software
Strong presentation skills
