Embedded Software Engineer
Portsmouth – On Site
£60,000–£70,000
I'm currently working with a leading engineering and technology organisation supporting the defence and maritime sectors, who are looking to add an Embedded Software Engineer to their growing team based in Portsmouth.
The company develops advanced mission-critical systems and electronic solutions used across naval, maritime, and wider defence applications. With a strong pipeline of long-term programmes and continued investment in engineering capability, they are seeking talented engineers to contribute to the next generation of high-performance embedded systems.
You'll join a multidisciplinary team of software, electronics, and systems engineers, playing a key role in the design and development of embedded software for complex defence platforms and equipment. The position is highly hands-on, with a strong focus on C/C++ development, working closely with hardware and systems teams to deliver robust, reliable, and high-integrity solutions.
The role offers involvement across the full engineering lifecycle, from requirements capture and architecture through development, integration, verification, and deployment. You'll have the opportunity to influence technical decisions, contribute to product innovation, and work on projects that have real-world operational impact.
This position is based in Portsmouth and requires on-site work. Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance. Unfortunately, sponsorship cannot be offered.
