Job Advert Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU) as an Economic Investigative Support Officer based in Bridgend.
ROCUs are a vital part of the national policing network, delivering specialist capabilities to tackle serious and organised crime. In this role, you will support high-profile and complex investigations into fraud, money laundering, corruption, and financial crime.
As part of the Regional Proactive Economic Crime Team (PECT), you will work alongside police officers, staff, and partner agencies to:
Support investigations into serious economic crime and organised criminality
Conduct financial enquiries and develop financial intelligence
Obtain witness statements and assist with suspect interviews
Provide operational support during search warrants
Manage and review evidential material
Maintain accurate investigation records in line with policy and legislation
Assist in preparing case files for prosecution and court proceedings
Help identify, trace, and recover criminal assets
You’ll be part of a highly collaborative team working across regional forces, other ROCUs, and the City of London Police, playing a key role in proactively disrupting organised crime across the UK.
We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual who can:
Work effectively within a team and independently
Handle sensitive information with professionalism
Support complex investigations with strong organisational skills
Demonstrate an interest in financial investigation and economic crime
Successful candidates must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC level.
Please note, if you are an internal candidate and subject to an ongoing PSD investigation, your appointment or placement in the role may be delayed pending an outcome. Whether the role is held open will be considered on a case-by-case basis
As an equal opportunities’ employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates are currently underrepresented within the Force, we would particularly welcome applications from ethnically diverse candidates.
To support the ambition of a diverse workforce, South Wales Place is able to offer a Guaranteed Interview Scheme (GIS). The GIS is available for people living with a disability or identify as ethnically diverse.
If you are an applicant who is living with a disability or from an ethnically diverse background (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) and would like to be considered under the GIS, you must meet the essential minimum criteria for the role as outlined in the advert and role profile. You should take time to evidence that you meet each of the essential criteria in your application form and/or personal statement and CV.
