As a Business Services Assistant, you'll be involved in many different tasks as you support the day-to-day running of the office and welcome our visitors. This is a busy and varied job – no two days will be the same. You’ll have an important part to play in your team meeting its goals, so you’ll always be looking at how you can offer help where needed.
You'll work 30 hours per week. You'll work 7.5 hours per day, 4 days per week, Monday - Thursday and will work one weekend in 3, on a rotational basis.

What it's like to work here:Reporting to our Facilities & Support Services Manager, you’ll be at the heart of the property working alongside all our property teams by delivering efficient business services. You’ll be responsible for providing great customer service across the portfolio, to visitors, contractors and colleagues.
Hatchlands Park was built in the 1750s for naval hero Admiral Edward Boscawen and his wife Fanny. Since then, it has housed wealthy families, a finishing school for girls and even a printing press. Today, visitors can wander through 400 acres of rolling parkland and woodland, stop for coffee in the Kitchen Café all year round or see inside the house on six afternoons a week, between March and October.
Hatchlands Park is part of a property group with Clandon Park and Polesden Lacey. The Facilities and Support Services team functions across both Hatchlands and Clandon, working to keep our buildings and facilities safe and compliant and our business operations running efficiently.
What you'll be doing:As the property’s only dedicated Business Services team member, you’ll be responsible for the delivery of efficient, proactive and flexible business services at Hatchlands Park and Clandon Park. Working within a team, you’ll help enable your colleagues to deliver the organisational strategy and meet their objectives. Your responsibilities will include general business services, records management, system/process management, soft facilities management and financial management.
You’ll role model great customer service, providing a consistent point of contact for your team, visitors and external stakeholders. You'll co-ordinate the efficient and discreet handling of data using a number of business systems. Part of a small, flexible team, you’ll work alongside colleagues and volunteers creating a great place to work. You’ll work in an environmentally conscious manner, monitoring the resources that are delegated to you.
You'll be part of the duty management rota. You'll be responsible on the day for the smooth running of the property during opening hours, acting as the main contact point for staff, volunteers, and customers in case of emergency, enquiry or complaint.
