Role Description

The Shop Assistant role at IMMYZ is a part-time, on-site position based in Ashton-Under-Lyne. In this role, you will welcome customers, provide product information, and help them choose suitable vaping products in line with legal and company guidelines. You will handle point-of-sale transactions, process cash and card payments accurately, and maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked shop floor. Daily tasks include checking stock levels, restocking shelves, updating price labels, and supporting basic merchandising. You will also respond to customer queries, handle returns or exchanges in line with store policy, and work closely with colleagues to ensure a safe, compliant, and positive in-store experience.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills, including clear communication, active listening, and a friendly, professional manner with diverse customers.
• Basic retail and sales skills, such as handling cash and card payments, using point-of-sale systems, and accurately processing transactions.
• Organizational and time-management abilities to maintain store tidiness, manage stock on shelves, and complete tasks efficiently during shifts.
• Attention to detail and reliability for checking product compliance, following age-verification procedures, and adhering to company policies.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and carry out light physical tasks, such as lifting boxes, restocking, and arranging displays.
• Willingness to learn about vaping products, TPD requirements, and IMMYZ brand ranges to provide informed guidance to customers.
• Previous experience in retail, convenience, or customer-facing roles is beneficial but not essential; training can be provided for the right candidate.
• Flexibility to work part-time hours, including weekends and peak trading times, as agreed with the store manager.
