About the role

Tozers LLP is a leading firm of solicitors with offices in Exeter, Teignmouth and Newton Abbot offering an extensive legal service to businesses and individuals both locally and nationally. We are recognised in the Legal 500 and Chambers UK legal directories in a number of fields.

We are now seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Administration Assistant to join a specialist litigation team which has a leading presence in an industry sector.

What you’ll be doing

Our busy litigation team in Exeter are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic administration assistant. The work is fast-paced and client-focused.

Your standard responsibilities will include opening, closing and archiving client files, undertaking new client checks, billing, credit control and cost recovery, using the firm’s IT systems and packages, proof reading and updating dictated work, dealing with emailed or telephone client enquires, document production including printing, photocopying and posting, preparing bundles, case management and assisting lawyers generally with administrative responsibilities.

Our team works flexibly but we encourage everyone who can to work together in the office for two days of the week, on a Monday and Wednesday, to promote collaboration, support and team building. We are happy to discuss other flexible working arrangements.

What we’re looking for

Experience in an administrative role, particularly in a legal setting, will be an advantage but is not necessary. We do expect you to have ambitions to develop your legal skills in a leading team.

What you’ll have

You will be very well organised and will enjoy organising others. You will need to be a team player, diligent and an effective communicator ensuring that all clients and colleagues have the information they need. You will have a ‘can-do’ attitude, will be happy to adapt to and manage competing priorities and the requirements of the tasks facing you, paying attention to detail in all that you do.

You will have excellent IT skills and ideally be familiar with using software for creating bundles of documents, ideally with previous experience of using case management software such as SOS.

In addition, it will be beneficial if you are able to demonstrate your ability to work closely with team members with the aim of achieving a common goal.

We believe that our people are our most important asset, and are committed to supporting our teams, cultivating a healthy culture of challenge and expectation with support and care. We invest in our teams and our infrastructure to ensure that we attract and retain talented staff, and are committed to giving all colleagues the opportunity to reach their full potential, with a real focus on training and development.
