We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Play Worker for our wraparound childcare provision. This comprises of a breakfast club AND after school club in our school hall.
Hours: Hours to be confirmed. Initial contract for Wednesdays and Thursdays 2.30-6pm but with likelihood of additional hours on offer. Term Time Only.
Paid weeks per year: 44.85 (inclusive of holiday entitlement)
Start date: 2nd September 2026
About the Role
Responsibilities will vary but include:
- Assisting with planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment.
- Setting up the play space including moving furniture and play equipment.
- Providing comprehensive care for the children, including safeguarding.
- Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met.
- Administering first aid when necessary.
- Good communication with all members of the club, with the school, and especially with parents.
- Undertaking appropriate and relevant training.
- Monitoring and maintaining a healthy, safe and secure working environment.
Experience required:
- Experience of working with 4- to 8-year-olds
- Understanding the varied needs of children and families
- Ability to work as part of a team
