We are looking for 2 full time Band 6 Children's Occupational Therapists on 12 month fixed term contracts to join our friendly and supportive paediatric therapy team. This exciting opportunity is perfect for those wanting to seek to further develop specialist skills in working with children and young people across a variety of settings. To ensure that we have the right person for the role, we would also consider this as a Band 5 OT role with transferrable skills.

You will manage a defined caseload of children with a range of coordination difficulties, developmental and physical needs, delivering high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy assessments and interventions. The role includes working collaboratively with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams to support children in achieving their full potential.

To manage own specialist caseload.

To work autonomously within Trust policies and professional practice, maintaining accurate and comprehensive up to date records.

To carry out specialist assessment and treatment of children with complex needs, with the aim of using education and advice to facilitate children/ young people and carers to understand and actively participate in the management of the condition, leading to safe and timely discharges and transfer of care.

Determine a clinical diagnosis, develop, deliver, implement, evaluate and modify individualised treatment programmes and/or provide specialist advice, ensuring appropriate pathways of care and communication via liaison and referral to other agencies as required.

Take part in the education and training of Occupational Therapists and qualified and non-qualified healthcare / social care / education staff including medical staff.
