Deputy Director - Technology

The Deputy Director - Technology is a senior leadership role within the Digital directorate, responsible for leading the delivery of safe, reliable and secure technology services that underpin clinical and operational care across the Trust.

Reporting to the Chief Digital Information Officer, the post holder will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Trust’s technology function, ensuring that infrastructure, networks, systems and cyber security services are resilient, high performing and aligned to organisational priorities.

The role will play a key part in supporting the delivery of the Trust’s Digital Strategy through effective use of technology to improve quality, productivity and staff experience. Working in partnership with clinical, operational and corporate colleagues, the post holder will ensure that digital capabilities are fully embedded into service delivery, enabling high quality care for patients.

The Deputy Director will lead a large and complex technology function, driving continuous improvement, innovation and adoption of emerging technologies, while ensuring value for money and alignment to financial and regulatory requirements.

The post holder will lead the development and delivery of the Trust’s technology strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and national digital requirements. This includes supporting improvements in quality, productivity, patient experience and staff effectiveness.

The role is responsible for the performance and reliability of the Trust’s technology estate, including networks, cloud services and core systems. This includes ensuring high availability and security of clinical systems and leading the delivery of major technology programmes such as infrastructure modernisation and system upgrades.

The post holder will lead cyber security, ensuring compliance with national standards, effective management of digital risk, and robust business continuity arrangements.

The Deputy Director will lead and develop Technology teams, ensuring the workforce has the capability and capacity to deliver current and future priorities.

The role will work in partnership with clinical, operational and corporate leaders, manage technology budgets, oversee supplier performance, and drive innovation and continuous improvement.
